Laser Light Display!

Happy almost New Year!!

If you know us you know that we absolutely LOVE our Christmas lights. We go all out every year...it runs in the family! We are slowly growing our light stash and recently got this Laser Christmas Light Display. It is awesome. I couldn't get any great pics of it due to all the snow we got recently but here are some from inside before we put it out and one from Amazon.

We still use our normal Christmas lights and add this as an extra but they would also work great if you wanted to ditch the traditional lights all together. The lights are a stationary blue and green and the colors are very vibrant.

It comes with a sturdy steak to keep it from moving in the ground. They have a very good coverage range and even has a built in timer so that they will automatically turn off after 6 hours. These have been great for us so far and I can't wait to see what kind of things we do with them in the coming years.

Super fun bike lights!

My daughter loves riding her bike almost as much as my husband does. I couldn't say no when I found this 5 piece set of spoke lights from Uelfbaby! The price is amazing and I ordered through prime so they arrived super quick and with no issues!

I love that you can customize the colors. My daughter loves the color blue so she loves that she can light up her bike. She can't go too fast just yet and we only let her ride in the driveway at night but I love that this is something that can grow with her. We also like to hook them up to the wheels on the bike trailer.

Not only does it make it super easy to see at night but they also make it super fun as well! They are really fun on our evening walks and rides. I love how easy they are to use, how secure they are, and the waterproof construction. Definitely a must for bike riders, young and old alike!

Sausage Cheddar Pasta!

So it's been a little while since I've last updated. Summer is definitely getting away from me! We are trying to pack in so many things this summer and plan a trip to Disney World and my daughter starts school in a few short weeks! eek! So many things are happening right now. Add in parties and weddings and it's just crazy over here. Recently I've discovered a recipe that I have decided we need to do at least once a month. It is so delicious and it's definitely one of my favorites now. The recipe can be found at getinmybelly.com. Here's our take on the recipe.

- 1 lbs turkey sausage
- 1.5 cups diced onion

- 1 can diced tomatoes
- 1/2 cup heavy cream

- Scallions if you would like for a garnish

Directions:
1) Heat the olive oil in a pan over medium high heat and fry the turkey and onions
2) Add garlic and cook about 20 seconds
3) Add in the chicken broth, heavy cream, tomatoes, and any seasonings you would like

Cookies and Milk Popsicles!

I have found a new favorite frozen treat. Cookies and milk pops! I recently got this amazing popsicle kit from Lebice and it's love. The price is fantastic for the quality. It comes with instructions and is very easy to use. On to the recipe!

Ingredients:
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1/3 c. sweetened condensed milk
- chocolate chip cookies (chips ahoy works well because of the consistency and size)

Directions:
1) Put 2 cookies into each popsicle mold
2) whisk together milk and cream until frothy
3) Pour mixture over cookies and place popsicle sticks into place
4) Freeze until firm (about 5 hours or overnight)
5) Enjoy!

To get the popsicles out of the mold just run them under some warm water for a few seconds and it should pop right out. There are so many uses for these including fruit popsicles too! They are perfect for a hot summer day and I'm looking forward to a lot more homemade popsicle creations!

Zucchini Parmesan Crisps!

I know it's been a while but we are having so much fun this summer! We went to the market a few days ago and ended up with some zucchini and I just wanted to share an awesome recipe I found with you guys! It's for Zucchini Parmesan Crisps! The recipe was found here.

Ingredients:
- About 2 medium size zucchini
- 2 or more eggs
- 1/2 cup flour
- 1 cup panko
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- about 1/2 cup of vegetable oil (I used olive oil)

Directions:
1) Start by cutting your zucchini into slices
2) Put flour in a bowl, eggs in another bowl, and mix cheese and panko in another bowl
3) Heat oil in pan over medium heat
4) Dip zucchini in flour, then egg, then panko mixture
5) Cook in oil for about a minute on each side until crispy
6) Place on paper towel lined plate
7) Serve while hot and Enjoy!

I also used some Parmesan Italian dressing as a dip and it was delicious! You could also probably add some garlic powder into the panko to add some extra flavoring. I hope you enjoy these crisps as much as I did. What have you made recently??

ThinkFun...always thinking, always fun!

My daughter is fascinated with science and electricity so I knew she would love this new game from ThinkFun called Circuit Maze Board Game.

This is a really fun and challenging game! ThinkFun always has such fun and exciting games that keep your mind working and are super engaging. I love it. There are pieces in the game that you must arrange in order to create a working circuit to make different lights light up. Although my daughter is still a bit young for the game portion of this I really enjoy working with her and experimenting different things to get the circuit to work. Very educational and fun!

Captain No Beard!

Lately our daughter has been very head-strong and doesn’t understand why she isn’t right or has to sit in time out or etc. Recently we recieved this wonderful book called Being a Captain is Hard Work. This is a super cute read. The illustrations are great and I love the moral of the story in this book. Captian No Beard must learn the hard lesson that sometimes you are not always right. Sometimes you need to admit when you are wrong and trust in others. Most kids need to learn this important lesson. My daughter included.
It also includes a wonderful cloud key at the end of the book to help understand different types of clouds and the weather that is usually accompanied by them. A little longer than most children's books I’ve seen but definitely engaging to keep my daughter entertained. Another thing that I really enjoy is that it promotes imagination and creativity by showing that these were just regular kids exploring within their own bedroom. In all, my daughter loves it and it is one that we continue to reach for over and over. I received this book for free or at a discount in exchange for my honest and unbiased opinion.

We're finally getting some exercise!

This summer we have really been trying to make the time to spend time as a family and work out in the process. We have been biking a ton more and I’ve discovered that I haven’t really had any comfortable clothing to bike in. I found some Prolific Health yoga pants and capris on amazon and seriously these yoga pants are great.

I love the colors and pattern in them. The colors are bright and fun and the quality of the fabric is awesome as well. The fabric is thick and durable as well as being moveable and breathable. All very important qualities for yoga or working out. The fit is a tad on the smaller size so I would size up if I were you. They have a very high waistband which is great for tummy control or you can also roll it over for comfort. I’m looking forward to using these capris this summer while we’re biking and walking.

Momma's Gonna Snap!

Guys. This is one of the most adorable necklaces I have seen in a long time. I love this beautiful necklace! I am passionate about photography and this little camera piece is just too perfect! I don’t like big bulky jewelry and this piece is a great size. It is small and not overpowering at all.

It comes packaged on a cute cardboard piece in a bag. I went with the silver tone but that is because most of my other jewelry is silver. Gold looks just as cute! Delicate but still sturdy.

Can A Princess Be A Firefighter?

If you know my kid, you know she is an absolute ball of fire. A firecracker of a little munchkin. That's why I love this book called Can A Princess Be A Firefighter? This book is absolutely perfect for those little girls that have a rebellious strike in them like my daughter. It has an amazing message that basically if you can dream it, you can do it!

The illustrations are bright and fun which is perfect for young children. I really enjoyed that the daughter in the book wants to know for example if she can still wear her fairy wings while doing all of these things. Of course! It teaches children to be your own person and follow your own path. You can really do whatever you set your mind to. This is the perfect book for any child (independent or not!). I really enjoyed this book and the message it has throughout. It was short enough that my 3 year old didn’t lose interest but still got the lesson across flawlessly. I also received Rocket-bye (by the same author) and we really enjoyed that one as well!

Too cute not to love!

How many of you didn't find out the sex of your baby? It's so hard isn't it?! But I think it's so worth it. The struggle is definitely searching for the perfect gender neutral stuff before hand. I searched and searched for some milestone stickers I loved for when my daughter was born and had such a hard time choosing one I absolutely loved. I finally found it for whenever we end up with baby number 2. This set of 24 baby milestone stickers from Mesmerico USA are by far some of the cutest I have ever seen and there are so many included!

The stickers are durable and approximately 4 inches in diameter. They are the perfect size for a onesie or bib. I really like that I don’t need to take them off the backing if I don’t want to and can reuse them again for different occasions such as Christmas pictures (for a card or etc) and Christmas Day pictures. The quality of the stickers is great. They are bright and clear. One of my favorite things about this set, as we did not find out what we were having and don’t plan on it the next time, is that it is very gender neutral. The designs would easily fit for a boy or girl. I also really enjoy the fact that this set not only has all the month stickers but also a lot of first holiday stickers that are equally as adorable. This is perfect for a baby shower gift and for all new mommy’s and daddy’s!

Durable and Easy to use!

We recently moved to an area with really nice bike trails and we love to explore our new neighborhood. Our only concern is our new bikes! We doubt anything would happen to them here but you just never know. We decided to get this great bike lock from Safe Best

I like that it comes with a holder and it is very easy to use. Setting the combination was a breeze! We can also lock up our trailer along with it which is great! It's lightweight and has been a lifesaver so far!

Why are guys so hard to shop for?

Guys are so hard to shop for. I always struggle when it comes to holidays what I should get for them. Recently I found these New York Yankees cuff links and realized what a great idea for at least some of those hard to shop for men! These cuff links come in a nice box that is perfect for gift giving. My brother is a huge Yankees fan and I thought these would be perfect for him.

They are a very nice quality and also very easy to use. They color is a navy blue background with white lettering and a silver around the outside. The cuff links are durable and lightweight. I will admit that the lettering is a little off but from far away no one would be the wiser. You can’t beat the price for these!

What are some other ideas that you have had for the difficult to shop for men in your life?

Quick and Easy in the Morning

If you know me, you know that I absolutely hate mornings. I dislike them so much and the less time I have to struggle doing things in the morning the better. I have never owned a hair straightener in my life but I have always wanted one. I have been afraid of the damage it could do to my hair if I accidentally fried it or something. This Beautonics hair brush straightener is the perfect thing to help that! The bristles are very safe to the touch even when warmed up.

The design of this straightener is great. The brush design makes doing my hair very easy and quick. It has straightening and brushing all in one easy sweep in the morning. I love that it is lightweight and safe to use. As I said I am literally terrified of always burning myself somehow with traditional straighteners and haven’t had a single issue with this one. It warms up quickly and the heat is adjustable depending on how hot you want it to be. The price is absolutely amazing for such a great product.

Super Quick Craft!

What crafty things have you made lately? I need to find some new crafts! The latest thing I made was a wine bottle holder for some beautiful lighted flowers I’ve had laying around. I always thought that they were too tall to do anything with. Any vase I tried to put them in always just looked so silly to me but then  one night I happened to have a wine bottle laying around (I was going to use for some other craft) but then behold! I realized that it’s tall enough to fit the flowers perfectly! I added some embellishments (twine and river rocks at the bottom) and called it a 5 minute craft. Also, my daughter loved putting the rocks into the bottle so it was a great way to create and spend time together. It worked on her fine motor skills too! Score! So what do you think?

Luv4Baby!

Recently I got the opportunity to review some great changing pad liners. They are made by Luv4Baby and are made of bamboo. They are great for keeping your changing pad nice and clean and are easily changed out in the event that a mess does occur. The bottom has a plastic feel to seal in any leaks or messes and the top layer is nice and soft to keep baby comfortable. They are not as wide as I would have expected but definitely do the trick. They are a great deal at this price and are great for shower gifts as well!

Easy to use and easy to clean!

Grilling season is upon us and we are really big grillers in this side of the woods. There's nothing better than a great BBQ chicken and some grilled corn on the cob. The only downfall is the cleaning up after. The scrubbing of the grates and such is just a pain. I was given the opportunity to try out these great Grill Mats and they have worked out great for my family.
We love to cook and these have made cooking and cleaning up a breeze! They keep the food fresh and not dried out which is super important to us. I also really enjoy using the baking mat when making cookies. The mats are non stick and reusable. They keep the grill nice and clean and it's easy enough to tote these back inside, wash them off with a little soap and water and carry on your day. Easy, fast, and convenient! All very important things in this day and age!

Butterbeer!

I haven’t done a recipe around here in a while so here’s a new one! I decided the other night that I really wanted to try and make some Butterbeer! Nerd Alert!! Let’s talk about how I had no idea how many different recipes there are out there for it. Oh my gosh. So here’s what I ended up doing and I think it turned out pretty good!

Ingredients:
-          1 glass of Cream Soda
-          1 spoonful of Butterscotch Syrup
-          1 cup Heavy Cream
-          Sugar
-          2 tbsp Vanilla
-          1 tbsp Butter Flavoring

First I took the glass of cream soda and mixed in a spoonful of the butterscotch in it. Then in a separate bowl I mixed together the heavy cream, sugar, vanilla, and butter flavor to get a whipped cream type topping. Finally plop some of the cream over the drink and voila! Super quick and super delicious. Have you had butterbeer before and what is your favorite recipe for butterbeer? What do you think of it? Good? Bad? Let me know!
